Why wait until the evening to have dessert when you can start your day with it?
This overnight oats recipe tastes like apple pie in a jar!
The best part about it? It takes only five minutes to prepare: No cooking, no fuss, and it’s very affordable, too.
Ingredients
- Yogurt (use Greek yogurt for added protein) - ¾ cup (175 mL)
- Milk (you can use plant-based or protein milk) - ¼ cup (60 mL)
- Pure maple syrup - 1 tsp
- Vanilla extract - ½ tsp
- Ground cinnamon - ¼ tsp
- Ground nutmeg - ¼ tsp
- Apple (diced or grated, however you like it!)
- Large flake oats - ½ cup (125 mL)
(Oats are inherently gluten free but be sure to check the packaging and look for the “certified gluten free” label.)
Directions
- In a bowl or individual mason jars, add oats, milk, and yogurt.
- Gently rinse the apple under cool running water, then core, and finely dice or grate. Add apples to bowl or mason jar.
- Add vanilla extract, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- You can either leave layered or stir to combine ingredients.
- Cover bowl or seal mason jars and refrigerate overnight.
- Enjoy! Overnight oats in mason jars will keep in the fridge for up to five days.
