This overnight oats recipe tastes like apple pie in a jar!

The best part about it? It takes only five minutes to prepare – no cooking, no fuss, and it’s very affordable, too.

Ingredients

  • Yogurt (use Greek yogurt for added protein) - ¾ cup (175 mL)
  • Milk (you can use plant-based or protein milk) - ¼ cup (60 mL)
  • Pure maple syrup – 1 tsp
  • Vanilla extract – ½ tsp
  • Ground cinnamon – ¼ tsp
  • Ground nutmeg – ¼ tsp
  • Apple (diced or grated, however you like it!)
  • Large flake oats – ½ cup (125 mL)

(Oats are inherently gluten free but be sure to check the packaging and look for the “Certified gluten free” label.)

Directions

  1. In a bowl or individual mason jars, add oats, milk, and yogurt.
  2. Gently rinse the apple under cool running water, then core, and finely dice or grate. Add apples to bowl or mason jar.
  3. Add vanilla extract, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. You can either leave layered or stir to combine ingredients.
  5. Cover bowl or seal mason jars and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Enjoy! Overnight oats in mason jars will keep in the fridge for up to five days.
