The airwaves of Dawson Creek were buzzing with activity on February 20 as the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation hosted its 17th annual Have a Heart Radiothon. This year’s event raised $14,464 over the day and donations are still coming in.

The money raised will go towards purchasing a new Cub Pediatric Crib Stretcher for the hospital's emergency department.

"This year’s Have a Heart Radiothon was a success all due to the community and industry support the Foundation receives,” says Jessica Kulla, Executive Director for the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation. “Being able to spread awareness and raise funds to allow us to purchase necessary equipment that help the staff at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital provide the best care possible is why we continue to see success in our area."

Over 20 volunteers from Lake View Credit Union and Peace Country Toyota came down and helped out with the event, which aired on Pure Country 890, throughout the day.

Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation would like to thank all their major sponsors and donors including Safeway Dawson Creek, Pure Country/Bell Media, WestJet, Peace Country Toyota, Lake View Credit Union, Boston Pizza Dawson Creek, Boon Creek Cattle Association and Allen & Associates.
