Ongoing monitoring and testing has not identified any additional COVID-19 cases in recent weeks in association with an outbreak declared by NH Medical Health Officers on April 28, 2021, among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC.

June 11, 2021 update: To date, in association with this outbreak (involving separate clusters of COVID-19 activity since March 2021), there have been 56* lab-confirmed cases identified among various contractors. All of the cases have since recovered.

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with an outbreak declared by NH Medical Health Officers on April 28, 2021, among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC.

May 28 update: To date, in association with this outbreak (involving separate clusters of COVID-19 activity since March 2021), there have been 59 lab-confirmed cases identified among various contractors (an increase of 13 since the previous update).

A total of 8 cases are currently active (51 have recovered).

Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared a COVID-19 outbreak involving the operations of two Quesnel-based reforestation companies, following evidence of ongoing COVID-19 transmission among employees.

At the time of the declaration, a total of nine lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been associated with Dewan Enterprise LTD, and MIKEGROSITE Consulting LTD, operations in the Northern Health region. One individual who had tested positive in association with the outbreak, has died.

To date, in association with this outbreak (involving separate clusters of COVID-19 activity since March 2021), there have been 46 lab-confirmed cases identified among various contractors (an increase of seven since the previous update).

A total of 3 cases are currently active (43 have recovered).

Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared an end to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Medical Inpatient Unit at Dawson Creek & District Hospital.

In total since the outbreak was declared April 19, 2020, there were four patient cases and one staff case of COVID-19, as well as two deaths of patients who had tested positive in association with the outbreak. There have been no new lab-confirmed cases related to the outbreak since April 21, 2021. 

Northern Health Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the Heritage Manor II assisted living facility in Fort St. John, BC. At the time of the outbreak declaration, there have been three lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among facility residents.
