It’s been a year since the Northern Health Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) website launched, providing site visitors with information about the program, upcoming events, previous projects, and resources on quality improvement – happy anniversary, PQI website!
Since its first day live, the website has been accessed over 400 (unique) times every month and has seen more than 41,000 page visits. Its most popular month was November 2021, the month that the Qualitycast North podcast launched with its first episode! The most popular pages on the site are:
One of the most impressive pages on the PQI website is the Project Map. This map shows what areas of Northern Health are supporting quality improvement projects, what those projects are, and which physicians are taking the lead. For example, Dr. Shyr Chui (Qualitycast North season one podcast co-host) is leading a project (which is featured on episode ten of the podcast) to improve MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan quality and patient experience in the MRI department at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC). Check out the map to see more of the incredible work being done by the PQI teams!
Northern Health PQI is one of the major initiatives of the Specialist Services Committee (SSC) of BC. The PQI team provides "training and support to physicians, through technical resources and expertise, to lead quality improvement (QI) projects, which build QI capacity. This investment increases physician involvement in QI and enhances the delivery of quality patient care."
