Unwanted medications collection on Haida Gwaii

Haida Gwaii Hospital & Health Centre - Xaayda Gwaay Ngaaysdll Naay, the Skidegate Health Centre and Queen Charlotte RCMP are joining forces to remove unused or expired prescription (or non-prescription) drugs from communities on Haida Gwaii.

Prescription medications are often not fully used by patients, for a variety of reasons. Forgotten and/or expired medications can collect in people’s homes for months or years, presenting a risk if they wind up in the hands of children, or vulnerable adults. 

First baby of 2018 born in Quesnel

Northern Health is pleased to announce that the first baby born in Quesnel in 2018 is a girl!

Baby Amora Marie Desnomie was born at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital on January 1st at 1:17 p.m. to mom Kayla Desnomie and dad Todd Bird, of Quesnel - weighing in at six pounds, thirteen ounces.

The first baby born in the Northern Health region was delivered at Dawson Creek and District Hospital in Dawson Creek, at 7:25 a.m. on January 1st.

The first baby born in British Columbia in 2018 was delivered at Surrey Memorial Hospital at 12:00:09 a.m. January 1st.

First baby of 2018 born in Prince George

Northern Health is pleased to announce that the first baby born in Prince George in 2018 is a boy!

Baby Ezra Colton Seitz was born at University Hospital of Northern BC on January 01 at 9:37 a.m., to mom Kristen and dad Jesse of Prince George - weighing in at 7 lbs, 8oz.

Baby Ezra is also welcomed by big brother Nate.

The first baby born in the Northern Health region was delivered at Dawson Creek and District Hospital in Dawson Creek, at 7:25 a.m. January 01, 2018.

First baby of 2018 born in Prince Rupert

Northern Health is pleased to announce that the first baby born in Prince Rupert in 2018 is a boy!

Baby Caleb was born at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital on January 1st at 2:06 p.m. to mom Felicia Noseworthy and dad Kenneth Park, of Prince Rupert - weighing in at seven pounds, nine ounces.

The first baby born in British Columbia in 2018 was delivered at Surrey Memorial Hospital at 12:00:09 a.m. January 1st.

Northern Health is pleased to announce that the first baby born in 2018 the north is in Dawson Creek and is a girl!

Baby Camilla Nora Taylor was born at Dawson Creek and District Hospital on January 01 at 7:25am, to mom Tricia and dad Ryan of Bay Tree, Alberta - weighing in at 6lbs, 11oz.

Camilla is also welcomed by big brother Emmett.

The first baby born in British Columbia was delivered at Surrey Memorial Hospital at 12:00:09 on January 1, 2018.

Northern Health Connections modified holiday schedule

The Northern Health Connections program will run on a modified schedule starting December 19th, leading up to a holiday season break.

NH Connections provides transportation for clients travelling to non-emergent health services outside their home communities. A variety of routes connect communities across northern B.C., along with service to Vancouver. Demand for the service typically drops over the holiday season as fewer people book health care appointments.
