St. John Hospital remains open, some services impacted by flooding

Northern Health
Media Bulletin

Vanderhoof and area residents are advised that St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof remains open, as the facility recovers from a weekend flooding incident inside the hospital.

The hospital’s emergency department, inpatient areas, oncology services, laboratory and medical imaging departments are fully operational. Patients can continue to access these services as they normally would; the public is asked to pay close attention to directional signs, as access to some areas of the hospital may have changed.

Northern Health is working closely with physicians to communicate with any patients whose scheduled procedures or other appointments will need to be rescheduled, as the hospital’s operating rooms and maternity department are among areas of the hospital that experienced water damage. We are working with care providers to notify impacted patients, and to minimize any disruption in services.

Northern Health appreciates the patience of patients, visitors and our staff, as we recover from this unexpected incident.

Another update will be distributed on Thursday afternoon (February 15, 2018).
