Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak at Acropolis Manor in Prince Rupert.
In total, 33 residents and 24 staff tested positive for COVID-19, and there have been 16 resident deaths associated with this outbreak. There have been no new cases since February 10, 2021.

In total since the outbreak was declared February 7, there were nine patient cases and five staff cases of COVID-19, as well as one death of a patient who had tested positive in association with the outbreak. There have been no new lab-confirmed cases related to the outbreak since February 12, 2021.

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with an outbreak declared by NH Medical Health Officers on February 10, 2020, at the Pretium Resources Brucejack Mine north of Stewart, BC.
March 8 update: To date, there have been 51 laboratory-confirmed cases associated with the outbreak (an increase from 42 in February 19th update). There is a single active case, currently in self-isolation at the main Brucejack Mine camp.
Northern Health is inviting seniors aged 90 and older, and Indigenous people aged 65 and older, to book an appointment for a free COVID-19 vaccine at one of more than 30 vaccine clinic locations across the region.
The Northern call centre opens Monday March 8, for seniors aged 90 and older, Indigenous peoples aged 65 and older. The call centre will operate 7 am to 7 pm PST, seven days a week, and clinic locations will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Northern Health is advising of a potential exposure to COVID-19, at North Coast Transition Society’s Crane’s Crossing shelter (1080 3rd Avenue West, Prince Rupert), between February 22 and 24, 2021.
Public health officials are asking people who visited the shelter during this time period, to take extra care to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 until March 10, 2021 (14 days from the last date of possible exposure). Public health contact tracing is underway and, where possible, NH is reaching out directly to individuals who have been exposed.
NH Public Health continues to monitor an outbreak of COVID-19 at Acropolis Manor in Prince Rupert. To date, 33 residents and 23 staff have tested positive for COVID-19, and 14 residents have passed away in association with the outbreak.
Ongoing monitoring and testing of residents and staff has not identified any new cases for several days. While the outbreak status is considered stable, full outbreak measures remain in place, and public health will continue to monitor the situation closely.
