COVID-19 – Outbreak declared at Wrinch Memorial Hospital

Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Wrinch Memorial Hospital in Hazelton, following lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among patients on the acute care and long-term care units.

Four patients have tested positive for COVID-19 in association with the outbreak, and monitoring and testing is underway to identify any additional cases among patients and staff.

COVID-19 – Outbreak declared at University Hospital of Northern BC – Primary Care Medical Unit

Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Primary Care Medical Unit (PCMU) at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) in Prince George, following lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among patients and staff.

Nine patients and one staff member have tested positive for COVID-19 in association with the outbreak, and monitoring and testing is underway to identify any additional cases.

COVID-19 UPDATE – BC Hydro Site C project

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with an outbreak declared by NH Medical Health Officers on August 16, 2021, among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC.

To date, there have been 92 lab-confirmed cases in several clusters of COVID-19 activity amongst primarily unvaccinated workers in association with this outbreak, and just two cases are currently considered active. There have not been any newly identified cases associated with the outbreak clusters since September 15, 2021.

COVID-19 UPDATE – Jubilee Lodge, Prince George

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with the outbreak declared September 5, 2021 for Jubilee Lodge.

To date, 20 residents and three staff have tested positive for COVID-19 in association with this outbreak, and four additional resident cases have been epidemiologically linked due to exposure with a confirmed case. Sadly, five residents have passed away in connection with this outbreak, two of whom were epi-linked. Northern Health extends condolences to their family, friends and caregivers.

Boosting support, hiring to enhance services in Northern Health

People living in northern B.C.’s will benefit from additional government action to deliver needed health-care services when and where people need them.

Government is providing up to $6.38 million for programs and incentives to encourage more health workers to discover the advantages of working and living in the North.

COVID-19 UPDATE – Jubilee Lodge, Prince George

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with the outbreak declared September 5, 2021 for Jubilee Lodge.

To date, 19 residents and one staff have tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, three residents have been epi-linked (had a high-risk exposure with a confirmed case) to the outbreak. Sadly, two residents have passed away in connection with this outbreak, one of which was epi-linked. Northern Health extends condolences to their family, friends and caregivers.

COVID-19 UPDATE – Fort St. John Hospital – Inpatient Unit

The outbreak declared August 28, 2021 for the Inpatient Unit at Fort St. John Hospital continues. Ongoing monitoring and testing has not identified any additional cases associated with this outbreak.

To date, four patients and three staff have tested positive for COVID-19. Two patients have since recovered. Sadly, one of the patients who tested positive in association with the outbreak has passed away. Northern Health extends condolences to their family, friends and caregivers.

Enhanced outbreak control measures remain in place at Fort St. John Hospital.

COVID-19 UPDATE – Jubilee Lodge, Prince George

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with the outbreak declared September 5, 2021 for Jubilee Lodge in Prince George.

To date, there have been 18 residents, two of which have been epi-linked, and one staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Enhanced outbreak control measures are in effect at Jubilee Lodge.
