May 1 is National Physicians’ Day, which gives us a chance to reflect on the accomplishments of the doctors in our region. Northern Health would like to acknowledge and celebrate the integral work that doctors do every day.
Doctors in the North consistently go above and beyond – we’re always hearing stories from their colleagues and teams, and from patients and community members:
- Patients share stories of the exceptional care they receive.
- Community members and families tell us about the extra steps doctors take.
- Medical teams and colleagues talk about the projects that doctors work on before and after their shifts, to help their teams, patients, and communities.
- These teammates and colleagues also tell us about the support and comfort doctors give by listening, talking, laughing, smiling, and crying with their colleagues, their patients, their patients’ families, and fellow community members.
To sum up, we at Northern Health have the distinct privilege of hearing how deeply doctors in the North care about their patients, communities, teams, and families.
On May 1, we take extra time to give our thanks for doctors. We are thankful for them every day, and grateful to have this day to celebrate them and the work they do.
