From wildfires causing such a fright,
Residents arriving by bus loads late in the night,
To COVID-19 without a warning,
You keep showing up every morning.
Our portfolios are large, our responsibilities great.
This can sometimes feel like a humongous weight.
We show up, we give it our all,
Never taking note of the clock on the wall.
Gloves, gowns & masks,
A new way to do everyday tasks,
Information galore, changes day to day,
Your resilience and dedication, evident in every way.
Social distancing - are your residents dining apart 6 feet?
Wait - Dementia Care - this standard we must meet!
Every Tuesday and Thursday may bring a flood of musts and must-nots,
But we are grateful to not have residents with COVID, lined up in cots.
Uncertain times, that’s for sure;
We are all anxious for vaccine or cure,
Gratitude for keeping us safe, to Northern Health EOC and our provincial leaders too!
Recognizing of course, our residents, families and staff are blessed to have front line heroes and leaders like each of you!
Team work, patience and supporting together,
Each storm we will undoubtedly continue to weather,
It is with upmost respect, my hats off to you,
Not just in times of chaos but all year too!
