Laurel Burton

Laurel Burton was a Healthy Settings Advisor with the Healthy Communities team, where she supported Northeast communities to become healthier places to live. Previously, Laurel has supported food security work in a variety of geographical regions, and has worked with groups across the lifecycle, within BC and internationally, to support community and regional food systems development, for the aim of optimizing health.

Her work is grounded in the social determinants of health and their impact on overall well-being, both at the individual and population level. In her spare time, Laurel loves a good book, a hike in the mountains with friends, or spending time at home baking sourdough bread, surrounded by her many, many houseplants.
