Staying safe and celebrating responsibly: Enjoying the holidays with cannabis in mind

With the winter holiday season upon us, and friends and families gathering, it can be a very social time of year for many.

Some people may be planning to use cannabis over the holidays – possibly even trying it for the first time.

If you’re planning to use cannabis this holiday season, keep these safety tips in mind:

  • Familiarize yourself with the health risks associated with cannabis.
  • If you choose to use cannabis, Start Low, Go Slow and understand the difference between inhaling versus edibles.
  • Store your cannabis locked away in a safe location, out of reach of children and pets.
  • Never mix cannabis with other substances (alcohol, commercial tobacco, or other drugs).
  • Always plan for a safe ride home; do not drive after cannabis use, and do not get into a vehicle with a driver who has used cannabis.
