Staff attend a career skills fair
Rotary Manor staff take part in a Clinical Skills Day.

A Clinical Skills Day for the staff of Rotary Manor, the long-term care facility in Dawson Creek, was held in May. The Northern Health long-term care educators, registered dietitians, dental hygienists, and occupational therapy team worked collaboratively to create educational information on many topics to make this an informative, interesting, and educational event for all staff.

Staff attended from all disciplines to obtain new clinical information on wound care, dental/oral care, ROHO cushions, blood glucose monitoring, ostomy care, dysphagia, skin care products, and a wellness station.

The stations were well received and the staff were engaged in learning new information and skills. Staff enjoyed refreshments, played games, and entered draws.

Thank you to the long-term care educators from each health service delivery area who worked on the information to make this such a successful day. Additionally, thank you to the disciplines such as the dental hygienists, occupational therapy team, and the registered dietitians who attended to make this a successful, fun, and engaging event for staff!
