Northern Health is pleased to advise that a COVID-19 outbreak declared in mid- December at Jubilee Lodge in Prince George, is officially over. COVID-19 outbreak protocols are being lifted at the facility as the exposure risk period has now passed.
In total, there were a total of 48 confirmed resident cases of COVID-19, and 14 staff cases. Tragically, 17 residents of Jubilee Lodge who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died in association with the outbreak.
Jubilee Lodge staff and care providers have diligently focused on enhanced outbreak control measures throughout the facility for more than eight weeks, while continuing to provide excellent care to residents during this challenging time.
Northern Health thanks Jubilee Lodge families and residents for their patience, cooperation and support in recent weeks – and extends its deep condolences to the families, friends and caregivers of residents who have passed away in the past several weeks.
All Northern Health long-term care facilities have very clear policies and procedures for COVID-19 infection prevention and control, and these will remain an important focus at Jubilee Lodge to limit the risks from COVID-19 to residents, staff and physicians. This includes ensuring social visits, which can now resume, follow strict COVID-19 prevention protocols. Visitors should contact the facility to arrange visits, and not go to the facility without these arrangements in place.
