Every New Year’s Day, Northern Health monitors its hospitals and labour and delivery units for the birth of New Year’s babies across the region.

Prince George's New Year's Baby is a girl

Northern Health is pleased to announce that the first baby of 2024 in the North was born in Prince George and it’s a girl. Baby Holland was born at the University Hospital of Northern BC on January 1st at 1:04 am to mom and dad Amy and Jaden Janzen of Burns Lake, weighing in at six pounds, eight ounces.

Baby Holland is her parent’s first child.

Terrace's New Year's Baby is a boy

Northern Health is pleased to announce that Terrace’s first baby of 2024 was born at 2:38 am on January 1st and it’s a boy. Baby Declan was born at Mills Memorial Hospital to mom and dad Savannah Pelletier and Brian Hiltz of Haida Gwaii, weighing in at seven pounds, nine ounces.

Declan is also welcomed by older brother Ethan.

Quesnel's New Year's Baby is a boy

Northern Health is pleased to announce that Quesnel’s first baby of 2024 was born at 3:28 am on January 1st and it’s a boy. Baby Noah was born at GR Baker Memorial Hospital to mom and dad Samantha and Dayton of Quesnel, weighing in at eight pounds, three ounces.

Noah is also welcomed by older brothers Emmett and Grayson, and sister Parker.

Fort St. John's New Year's Baby is a boy

Northern Health is pleased to announce that Fort St. John’s first baby of 2024 was born at 7:33 am on January 1st and it’s a boy. Baby Tariq was born at Fort St. John Hospital to mom and dad Tamanda Allen and Curtis Barton of Fort St. John, weighing in at eight pounds, four ounces.

Tariq is also welcomed by older siblings Travis and Janique.

Dawson Creek's New Year's Baby is a girl

Northern Health is pleased to announce that Dawson Creek’s first baby of 2024 was born at 6:30 am on January 2nd and it’s a girl. Baby Elaina was born at Dawson Creek and District Hospital to mom and dad Allie and Terry of Tumbler Ridge, weighing in at seven pounds, six ounces.

Elaina is also welcomed by older siblings Desirae, Madisin, Gaige and Remmingtin.
