Northern Health
News Release

At the February 2023 Northern Health Board meeting, the board received a presentation highlighting the significant and exceptional work that northern healthcare foundations, fundraising societies and auxiliaries have undertaken to enhance services provided by Northern Health.

Foundations and auxiliaries, their volunteers and generous donors across the Northern Health region have provided funding for equipment, responded to emergent and urgent needs for funding, as well as maintaining a positive volunteer presence in northern communities.

“I am always amazed at the amount of work the foundations and auxiliaries do on behalf of the people of northern BC,” said Northern Health Board chair Colleen Nyce. “The Northern Health board is humbled by their generosity and contributions towards improving health care for the people who live in the North.”

Northern foundations and auxiliaries collectively committed more than $2.2 million to Northern Health in the 2021/22 fiscal year.

“I am impressed by the commitment and dedication of the northern foundations and auxiliaries,” said President & CEO Cathy Ulrich. “We are very grateful for the financial and volunteer contributions made each year towards enhancing health care across the North.”

The Northern Health Board of Directors recognizes that, over and above monetary support, these groups commit countless volunteer hours, in an environment that is uncertain and challenging.

The Board extends its sincere thanks to healthcare foundations, fundraising societies and auxiliary volunteers and donors for their ongoing support.
