Ongoing monitoring and testing have not identified any new cases of COVID-19 associated with an outbreak declared by NH Medical Health Officers on April 28, 2021, among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC.
To date, there have been 39 lab-confirmed cases identified among clusters of COVID-19 activity involving various contractors. There have been no new cases since the previous update (May 7).
There are currently no active cases associated with the outbreak; all 39 individuals who had tested positive in association with the outbreak, have recovered. A small number of close contacts are completing their required self-isolation.
NH Medical Health Officers, Site C and its contractors, and WorksafeBC, will continue to monitor and respond to the outbreak, as well as any future clusters of COVID-19 cases associated with the project.
