COVID-19 outbreak – declared over - BC Hydro Site C project

Northern Health
Information Bulletin

Northern Health is pleased to announce that Medical Health Officers have declared an end to a COVID-19 outbreak, originally declared on April 28, 2021, among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC.

In total, 56 lab-confirmed cases were associated with the outbreak (involving separate clusters of COVID-19 activity since March 2021). All of the cases have since recovered.

NH Medical Health Officers, Site C and its contractors, and WorksafeBC continue to work closely to monitor for any future clusters of COVID-19 activity on the project. Worker immunizations continue at Site C, with nearly seventeen-hundred first doses, and more than twelve-hundred second doses of COVID-19 administered to workers, to date.
