COVID-19 exposure – Prince George

Northern Health is advising of a potential exposure to COVID-19, at Active Support Against Poverty (1188 6th Avenue) in Prince George, between January 19 and 21, 2021.

Public health officials are asking people who visited the shelter during this time period, to take extra care to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 until February 5, 2021 (14 days from the last date of possible exposure). Public health contact tracing is underway and, where possible, NH is reaching out directly to individuals who have been exposed.

If people remain healthy and do not develop symptoms, there is no need to self-isolate, and people can continue with their usual daily activities, and continue to follow all COVID safety measures, including: keeping a safe distance from others, staying close to home and avoiding gatherings, and wearing a mask in public indoor spaces. If you develop any symptoms of COVID-19, please self-isolate and contact the COVID-19 Online Clinic and Information Line for Northern BC residents: 1-844-645-7811, or contact your doctor or nurse practitioner.

If you have been identified as a COVID-19 case or close contact in association with this exposure, NH Public Health will contact you directly and provide further instruction.
