COVID-19 exposure – Prince George

Northern Health
Health Alert

Northern Health is advising anyone who used the services of Prince George Taxi on October 2nd or 3rd, between the (overnight) hours of 6  pm to 6 am, that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Public health officials are asking people who traveled by PG Taxi during this time period, to take extra care to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 until October 17th (14 days from the last date of possible exposure). Public health contact tracing is underway and, where possible, NH is reaching out directly to individuals who have been exposed.

If people remain healthy and do not develop symptoms, there is no need to self-isolate, and people can continue with their usual daily activities. If you develop any symptoms of COVID-19, please self-isolate and contact the COVID-19 Online Clinic and Information Line for Northern BC residents: 1-844-645-7811, or contact your primary care provider.

If you have been identified as a COVID-19 case or close contact, please know that NH Public Health will contact you directly and provide further instruction.

NH reminds everyone of the importance of following COVID-19 precautions:

  • Stay home and avoid travel if you have symptoms, even mild ones.
  • Maintain physical distancing (two metres apart) and use masks when distancing is not possible.
  • Wash your hands regularly and do not touch your face.
  • Do not plan or attend gatherings of more than 50 people. Limit gatherings to out of doors whenever possible.
